L-Fusion Optics will showcase an integrated optical system at Automation World 2026 in March, combining high-end lenses with process-specific lighting. As miniaturization accelerates across industries such as semiconductors, displays, and secondary batteries, the company aims to maximize inspection performance through system-level optimization encompassing not only lens performance, but also lighting methods, optical path configurations, thermal and vibration environments, and alignment tolerances.
L-Fusion Optics’ core expertise lies in optical design that maximizes defect contrast while supporting high-resolution sensors and high-speed imaging environments. The company designs lenses, lighting, and mechanical components as a single package and supplies them as integrated modules that can be directly mounted on customers’ inspection equipment.
L-Fusion Optics’ key business areas consist of Machine Vision Optics, Laser Optics, Bio & Medical Optics, and Illumination. In the machine vision optics sector, the company’s flagship products include high-end optical modules combining high-brightness illumination with 1D line-scan lenses, such as the SURP Series and FINO Series for 12K and 16K applications, as well as the FINE Series 2D lenses. The company also develops customized non-contact 3D optical systems.
For L-Fusion Optics, 2025 marked the beginning of its expansion into the global market based on its high-end optical technology. The company established capabilities not only to develop high-end optical systems, but also to reliably handle their manufacturing and production.
A L-Fusion Optics representative said, “As demand for inspection and metrology continues to grow with the expansion of AI semiconductors and the advancement of advanced packaging, the evolution of high-resolution sensors is also rapidly raising the performance requirements for high-end optics.”
The representative added, “We consider it our most meaningful achievement in 2025 that domestic and overseas customers began to recognize L-Fusion Optics as a company capable of designing and manufacturing high-end optical systems.”
As manufacturing AX continues to expand, standardizing the quality of image data at the optical stage is becoming increasingly important so that AI can learn and make accurate judgments. L-Fusion Optics differentiates itself by systematically designing optical modules that combine high-resolution optics and lighting according to the defects specified by customers, with the goal of reducing variations that can negatively affect AI performance.
A key strategy is to accelerate customers’ adoption of AX through platform-based module supply and the standardization of data and imaging recipes. Through modularization and standardization, the company reduces the risks associated with on-site setup and scaling while providing solutions that ensure consistency by minimizing variations in lighting, uniformity, and other factors to which AI is particularly sensitive.
The key solution L-Fusion Optics will showcase at the exhibition is an integrated optical system optimized by combining high-end lenses and lighting. Lighting is just as important as the lens in inspection processes across industries, and optimizing the lighting for each process can significantly improve the visibility of the defects being inspected.
In particular, inspection after display lamination is strongly affected by interference and reflections caused by multilayer transparent structures, low-contrast defects, and process noise. L-Fusion Optics’ optical system is designed to reveal low-contrast defects more reliably, maximize the visibility of minute defects, and reduce variations during line operation to ensure reproducible inspection data.
The FINE Series is a premium lens lineup designed for high-resolution 2D inspection. Its high-NA, high-resolution optical design delivers the resolution required to detect minute defects, while its low-F-number, high-brightness optics improve inspection speed. The series delivers high contrast across the entire field of view (FOV), while its apochromatic design minimizes focus shifts across RGB wavelengths, maintaining stable focus and sharpness even in multi-wavelength environments.
L-Fusion Optics views automation and smart factories as key infrastructure for implementing ESG initiatives. The company aims to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through FEMS-based data collection and energy-intensity management, while simultaneously reducing resource consumption through process automation that minimizes defects and rework.
The company is also strengthening its MES/QMS-based traceability and change-management systems to ensure the transparency required to respond to global customers’ quality and ESG audits. At the same time, it is pursuing improvements in workplace safety and workforce capabilities through the automation of hazardous tasks and workplace-environment monitoring.
L-Fusion Optics’ mid- to long-term goal is to accelerate its entry into the global high-end market and expand its presence overseas, while establishing Global Top-Tier recognition and market share in semiconductor and display inspection optics.
The company plans to develop sub-micron-level inspection optics required for next-generation display processes, including micro-LED beyond OLED, and strengthen its market position by standardizing its optical solutions.
A L-Fusion Optics representative said, “As AI-based automation continues to expand, inspection performance is determined not only by algorithms but also by the quality and consistency of the input images.”
The representative continued, “Ultimately, we aim to establish ourselves as a global precision optics company capable of designing, manufacturing, and mass-producing high-end optical systems by improving defect contrast and reproducibility, standardizing high-end inspection optics, advancing the manufacturing and quality systems required by global customers, and expanding our partner ecosystem.”
